The coolest way to bring Awe & Wonder to your school!
The Science V Magic show is an educational show aimed at school years 4-8 (ages 8-13) and focuses on performing amazing magical illusions and demonstrating educational and fun science experiments. The students then compare them and vote for which they liked best.
Science V Magic has been carefully designed to actively engage pupils whilst maintaining a significant circular overlap between the content of the show and the UK national curriculum.
Changes of state, forces, combustion, respiration, and sublimation are just some of the topics covered in the show.
The Science V Magic show is especially valuable to schools because it teaches students scientific knowledge in an engaging and fun way that they've never experienced before and allows them to observe experiments with materials they may not encounter in everyday classroom life such as dry ice (with bubbles!).
It sparks awe and wonder and also aims to equip pupils with more of the cultural capital they need to succeed in the modern world.

FAQs
What age is this suitable for?
Years 4 to 8 (Ages 8-13)
Science V Magic shows and events are designed for school years 4 to 8 (8-13 years old). Whilst reception to year 3 students will thoroughly enjoy the show, they may not fully comprehend the science (the same applies to some adults!).
How much space do you need?
5m x 5m x 7m
At least - 5M Wide, Ceiling height of 5M+ and 7M from the back wall to the front row, please. We do not need to be elevated on stage or platform for most audiences.
Is it messy?
Nope, not really
We use Water, Bubbles and Dry Ice in some shows but only splashes of mess (unless I drop something!)
How much time do you need between shows?
A short break is welcome
But, we can do shows back to back and reset in the time it takes the audience to change.
How long is the show?
45 mins
Typically 45mins (The length of a class) but a one-off show can be an hour and we have done 30-minute sessions to squeeze a couple more into a day.
How many students can attend each show?
Infinity!
There is no minimum or maximum. Assemblies can be for the whole school. Shows tend to be for Class or Year groups.
What do we need to provide?
Water & Electricity
The only show requirements are access to water and electricity. (These will be kept separate!). Coffee is very welcome as is lunch if it is a whole day of shows.
Is fire or smoke used?
Yes, both.
The fire is used in a controlled manner and a Fire Marshall is appointed for this portion of the show. A Vegetable/Glycerine (like Vape) smoke is used. This may affect your smoke alarms so these should be isolated for the duration of the shows.
The way we use fire within the Science V Magic show is both safe & controlled and incredibly cool!
